POLICE have been granted more time to query a person arrested on suspicion of a terror offence after a “bomb” was found outside a maternity unit.
The bomb squad and Military specialists swooped on St James’s Hospital in Leeds at round 5am on Friday.
The 27-year-old suspect was detained on suspicion of worrying within the fee, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism after he was allegedly seen with a suspected firearm and a suspicious package deal on the hospital’s maternity wing on Friday.
A warrant of additional detention was granted by Westminster Magistrates’ Courtroom on Saturday, giving officers till Friday to maintain and additional interview the suspect if required, Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) North East stated.
